Rhode Island Design-Build Projects
Johnston, Rhode Island
Project Overview
In 2019 after an awarded bid, Cambridge worked with CEC, Inc. on the design and construction phases of the Transfer Station, Transfer Station Addition, and Admin Office Building facilities.
Transfer Station & Addition: Designed and currently under construction of a 19,160 SF Transfer Station with a 420 SF break room and a 6,000 SF dry storage building. The Transfer Station is a metal building with 12’ high concrete push walls, a 16,400 SF tipping floor, and a 1,150 SF loading pit positioned 8’ below the tipping floor. The facility has seven bays with large overhead doors where customers access the tip floor to unload waste for processing. The recovery building next to the Transfer Station has an 8’ high concrete wall with a clear span heavy-duty fabric structure roof supported by metal arched trusses, leaving the space completely open for storage. The addition work includes pouring foundations, metal building framing, panels, roofing overhead door placement, grading, pouring tipping floor slab for the new tipping floor bays and more.
Admin Office Building: Designed and built this 10,000 SF office building. The project included the construction of offices, restrooms, break rooms, paving, parking spaces, and a final nice touch of a living moss wall with our client’s logo.
