Rhode Island Design-Build Projects

Johnston, Rhode Island

Project Overview

Rhode Island Design-Build Projects: Designed and currently under construction of a 19,160 SF transfer station with a 420 SF break room and a 6,000 SF dry storage building. The transfer station is a metal building with 12’ high concrete push walls, a 16,400 SF tipping floor, and a 1,150 SF loading pit positioned 8’ below the tipping floor. The facility has seven bays with large overhead doors where customers access the tip floor to unload waste for processing. The recovery building has an 8’ high concrete wall with a clear span heavy duty fabric structure roof supported by metal arched trusses, leaving the space completely open for storage.

Currently designing and scheduled to start constructing in the 3rd quarter of 2021 is a 10,000 SF Office building for operations and support staff. The facility has large individual offices, a common open office area, staff break room, and an outside break area with a gazebo. It also houses a 1,000 SF board room for public hearings and staff training. The building is designed as a wood framed structure protected with an automatic sprinkler system throughout. This office building will replace the existing RIRRC offices located on the landfill property, scheduled for demolition due to landfill expansion.
