First Christian Reformed Church
Crown Point, Indiana
Project Overview
The original church building, before the expansion, only had a 12’ wide narthex running the length of the sanctuary. The goal was to expand the narthex and make it more welcoming to new, and existing members.
Cambridge worked with the leadership team at First CRC to design and build the roughly 25’ addition to the narthex. The work also included an addition to the vaulted ceiling of the new and existing narthex to provide more volume to the space. The large windows were designed with the cross in the center as a nice added feature. A coffee bar and full kitchenette and pantry were designed to help serve coffee and treats for services and events. The newly covered entry included two sets of double doors for easy access into the space.
