Richmond, VA West End Transfer Station
The facility was built to incorporate a new MSW Transfer and Single Steam Transcyclery on the
site of an existing C&D Landfill. The new building is 13,000 SF and protected throughout with an automatic fire suppression system. The facility has a rear loading pit, which separates the MSW from the single steam material to avoid contamination. In addition, the single stream side has a single
ram baler, bale storage area, and two loading docks for a limited cardboard baling operation. The improvements included the installation of foundations for a new 70’ above ground beam style scale next to an existing scale house building.
